publish poll on homepage joomla

Got a hint here:
Polls not publishing

1) write your poll (Components > Polls)
2) publish it
3) go to Extensions > Module Manager
4) click on Polls in the list
5) on the right, select from the drop-down list the poll you want to display
6) apply & save
